The poem has already been favorably reviewed by Amal El-Mohtar, editor of Goblin Fruit and noted SF poet:
This just in: Mythic Delirium 19 rocks like Gibraltar.
"'Tammuz to Ishtar,' by Delbert R. Gardner, is a beautiful, haunting sonnet that made me think of some of Duncan Campbell Scott's poems; the rhythm's tilt from line to line put me in mind of "Watkwenies" . . . What I mean is, it's lovely."

Our beloved father died at 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning. I pray that we will meet again. Until then, I will continue to seek publication for his work, as he requested. In addition to seeking homes for individual stories, poems, and articles, I will be submitting the collections we had worked on and completing some of his manuscripts as a collaborator, as we had discussed. May his spirit live on in our hearts and in his work...as well as in heaven.

Website design phase one complete! With the biography section composed and Dad's publications fully enumerated, I'll soon be submitting manuscripts where he left off. Not only are there many new poems and stories to send out, there are several collections to be shopped around. With a wealth of themes to choose from, it's difficult to decide which to approach first! Dad and I are planning to collaborate on some stories and possibly a collection or two.

A touch of whimsy.
It should be noted that Delbert R. Gardner inspired the linked sites of "The Gardner Castle." Ever since he coined the title in 1995, it has resonated with me, particularly since my brothers and I have often discussed the possibility of artistic collaboration. In addition to the inspiration of his own dedication to writing, Dad has nurtured so many of our creative interests and pursuits, he truly is the king of the castle!
