DRESSING FOR A GARDEN SALAD

By Delbert R. Gardner

Adam and his Lady Fair
Took pleasure in cavorting bare
Until the apple episode,
But then, to hide the blush of shame,
They fashioned clothing, so we're told,
And thus began the fashion game.

Another theory has it that
The clothes were not to ease their guilt,
But after the couple's honeymoon,
They had acres of trees and herbs to prune;
I never heard that Eve was flat,
And Adam's form was custom-built--
They had to dress and hide their charm
So they could think of tending the farm!
